IIIT Raichur Signs MoU with IIM Visakhapatnam for PGPMCI – A Transformative Modular MBA

The Indian Institute of Information Technology, Raichur (IIITR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam (IIMV) to introduce the Post-Graduate Program in Management for Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (PGPMCI). This initiative enables BTech and MTech students to develop specialized management skills alongside their technical education, fostering a multidisciplinary learning environment in line with NEP 2020.

Highlights of the Collaboration:

  1. Bridging Technology and Management – PGPMCI is designed to equip students with essential business and leadership skills, preparing them for industry-driven roles.
  2. Synchronous Online Learning – The program ensures flexible and accessible learning while maintaining academic rigor.
  3. Early Exposure to Management Education – The program is now open to second-year students, allowing them to build a strong foundation in management.
  4. Alignment with Placement Cycles – The launch in August ensures students gain career-relevant knowledge at the right time.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. (Dr.) Harish Kumar Sardana (Director, IIIT Raichur) and Prof. Chandrasekhar M (Director, IIM Visakhapatnam), signifying a major step toward strengthening leadership and innovation in technical education. Prof. M. Shameem Jawed (Program Director) highlighted the importance of this initiative in providing students with a seamless pathway from technology to management.

Key Objectives of PGPMCI:

  1. Providing BTech/MTech students with specialized management education.
  2. Creating career pathways from technical expertise to leadership roles.
  3. Enhancing interdisciplinary learning aligned with NEP 2020.
  4. Supporting large-scale academic and industry collaboration.

With 44 distinguished faculty members, a thriving incubator (IIMV FIELD), and a strong research ecosystem, IIM Visakhapatnam continues to expand its partnerships, having signed MoUs with 15 leading NITs and IIITs to offer PGPMCI.

This initiative marks a significant step toward integrating technology and management education, reinforcing IIIT Raichur’s commitment to academic excellence and leadership development.
